Women such as Amal Clooney, and regions such as Scandinavia, are of course doing great work for international women, remembered today on International Women’s Day. I’ve tried to do what I could over the last 10-15 years, but now I’m preparing to return to being a real man; while of course retaining my parody comedy.
My first Folding Mirror poem had a feminist message for international women. Here it is combined with instructions about how a Folding Mirror poem works in brackets:
Comfort, Crying, Freedom (as with last line, three words separated by two commas)
Sold into slavery, (as with the second last line, three words and comma)
Beaten, Raped, (as with third from last line, two words and two commas)
Unwanted by twenty, (as with fourth from last line, three words and a comma)
Accused of immorality, Judged, (the folding middle line)
Guilty of course, (as with fourth line, three words and a comma)
Jeering, Hatred, (as with third line, two words and two commas)
Surrounded by men, (as with the second line, three words and comma)
Pain, Confusion, Liberation (as with the first line, three words separated by two commas)
Moreover, as recently remembered, my first poetry collection also contained some feminist philosophy.
I don’t have much to add now, but still support the women of the world, and hope they can have more empowerment, equality and freedom where it is now lacking.
